We can either continue to collectively stand on the sidelines and debate what is causing autism and if it is an epidemic or we can get on the field and start addressing the real problem - a generation of children with autism. Last month, my 5-year-old daughter told me that her after-school program was raising money for Autism Speaks. She was excited because (as explained via emails and fliers from the school), the fund-raiser would take place at a local ice cream store and all her friends would be there. The money would go to support a particularly beloved teacher running the New York marathon on behalf of the charity. My daughter, very excited, asked if we could go.

In 1968 a group of parents established The Wirral Society for Autistic Children, which was the forerunner for our organisation today. Autism Together has grown from providing support to people with autism, to providing a wide range of living options, day services and community support to people from all over the UK.

Autistic Self Advocacy Network

The Autistic Self Advocacy Network seeks to advance the principles of the disability rights movement with regard to autism. ASAN believes that the goal of autism advocacy should be a world in which Autistic people enjoy the same access, rights, and opportunities as all other citizens.

Generation Rescue is a parent-founded, parent-funded, and parent-led organization of more than 400 families.

ACEing Autism

Autism Research Institute

HEAL

SafeMinds

The Coalition for SafeMinds (Sensible Action For Ending Mercury-Induced Neurological Disorders) is a private nonprofit organization founded to investigate and raise awareness of the risks to infants and children of exposure to mercury.
