Synthol
The truth, however, is that the synthol ‘look’ is nothing more than a poor, twisted imitation of the real thing - Caliber

Why Are Bodybuilders Using Synthol?
Bodybuilders often look for avenues to better their bodies beyond what they do at the gym. From supplements to high-protein diets to calorie-laden shakes, the bodybuilding industry remains a lucrative business for manufacturers. Bodybuilders will shell out major dollars for any advantage in this competitive field—and Synthol is one such substance... Synthol is often marketed online as a "posing oil" to rub all over your body and give your muscles that preferred "shine" during competition. But that's not how bodybuilders typically use it. Rather, they inject the substance right into the body.

What Is Synthol And Why Are Guys Using It?
First of all, lots of people think that synthol is some sort of steroid. This is not true. Instead, synthol is actually a site enhancement oil, comprised of 85% oil, 7.5% lidocaine, and 7.5% alcohol. And it is actually nothing new at all… In fact, synthol has been used for years by professional bodybuilders that want to enhance the appearance of lagging muscles before competitions. They would inject this concoction of oil into the appropriate area, and voila, instant muscle growth. Yes, that’s right, synthol takes effect almost immediately, making it literally the fastest way to get jacked.
What is synthol and why are bodybuilders injecting it into their muscles?
A much quicker – but equally ill-advised – shortcut for massive guns (but not gains) involves injecting an oil called “synthol” directly into muscles to instantly bulk them up – rather like inflating a balloon. This process is known colloquially as “fluffing”. Synthol remains in the muscles for a surprisingly long time – the body doesn’t easily reabsorb the oil. Effects are known to last for three to five years. This might give you the insta-muscles you desired, but not so good if you’re horrified by the results and want them to return to their former state. Synthol is a mixture of oil (85% - sometimes sesame, walnut, or paraffin), lidocaine (7.5% - a local anaesthetic) and benzyl alcohol (7.5%).
Bodybuilder Uses Crazy Drug to Get Huge, Almost Loses Arm
You’ve heard the rumors: don’t take steroids because you could suffer heart complications, liver damage, stunted growth, shrinking of the testicles, etc. but did you know about the muscle-enhancing oil Synthol? It’s no big deal, except that it can GROW ROCKS INSIDE OF YOUR BODY?! Yes, this is a real thing, as explained by this terrifying muscle man who aspires to be The Hulk, known universally for his attractiveness, of course.
Myositis from intramuscular oil injections in a bodybuilder
A 32-year-old amateur bodybuilder presented with bilateral upper-arm erythema, pain and swelling. He had previously received treatment with antibiotics for presumed unilateral cellulitis of his left arm 6 times and right arm twice over the past 5 years. He described numerous intramuscular injections of site enhancement oil, commonly known as synthol, 10 years earlier.
Synthol Oil Injection: Impressive but Dangerous
Synthol is one of many types of site enhancement oils (SEO) that can be bought on the internet or made at home. Many inject these oils in conjunction with anabolic steroids. Synthol contains 85% oil, which is composed of medium chain triglycerides (MCT), 7.5% lidocaine for pain, and 7.5% alcohol to prevent infection. It is often marketed as a "posing oil" to be rubbed on the body at competitions to give the skin a shiny appearance. However, many inject it into the muscles for an immediate increase in size. It has absolutely no medical value, only cosmetic use. Upon injection, the MCTs expand causing the muscles to increase in size.
Synthol: The New Vice of Bodybuilding
A new substance has found its way into the ranks of bodybuilding. It is not a growth hormone, nor an anabolic steroid, nor any other type of performance-enhancing drug. It is Synthol. The effects of Synthol have yet to be determined, but one thing is for sure - it is giving bodybuilders freakish, almost cartoon-like figures. Bodybuilders are looking less like current Mr. Olympia Champion Jay Cutler and former Mr. Olympia Champion Arnold Schwarzenegger, and more like Popeye and the Incredible Hulk. Where the previous standard for bicep size in bodybuilding may have been 18 to 22 inches in girth (flexed), now even novice bodybuilders are displaying biceps of immense proportions, measuring up to 27 inches and beyond - mostly through the use of Synthol. And it is not limited to arms; Synthol is being used to increase the size of calves, thighs, pecs, and wherever else bodybuilders may feel the need/pressure to enhance.
Why Are Bodybuilders Using Synthol?
According to a review from the journal Polimery w Medycynie, Synthol is used by bodybuilders as a temporary implant that is injected deep into small muscle groups such as biceps, deltoids, and triceps. Why do they do this? Synthol offers immediate enlargement effects that can help them in competition. In recent years, the pervasive nature of social media has helped spread Synthol use throughout the bodybuilding world and beyond. Such posts spread the word, causing other bodybuilders to start adopting it as part of their competition injections. Although many think Synthol is a form of steroids, the liquid is actually an enhancement oil comprised of almost all oil.
