Einstein the Hypnobirthing Practitioner?
In the past hypnobirthing has always been perceived as a bit hippy dippy, which is a point I look to debunk throughout The Calm Birth School book as by far the majority of hypnobirthing theory is based on the biology of birth and evidence based neuroscience. As an avid reader I find that many of my favourite authors pepper their teachings with quotes from the genius of Einstein and as I was listening to one of my favourite books of the moment recently, it struck me just how many of Einstein’s teachings and quotes applied to the lessons we teach our hypnobirthing clients. So much so I wanted to share just five of the many quotes I could have included, that prove Einstein would have totally…

How Hypnobirthing Is Taking the Fear Out of Childbirth
Childbirth is something that our bodies are programmed to cope with naturally and we can choose how it happens. We are in control.
How HypnoBirthing Supported the Labor I Hoped for
HypnoBirthing had come through for me. Even though I did end up letting out a few “hollers” in the end and “pushed” the baby out instead of “breathing it down,” all in all, my birth experience was more or less what this method had promised to me — calm, natural, and above all, satisfying, although not entirely pain-free, for sure.

Expecting a Baby, But Not the Pain
Seeking alternatives to anesthetics and other kinds of medical intervention in childbirth, more women are turning to hypnotherapy courses—and some hospitals are recommending them to patients.
Hypnobirthing: The new Lamaze
New childbirth technique teaches mom to focus on their baby, not on fear and pain. Forget the rapid, shallow breathing espoused by the old Lamaze method. The new trend in childbirth is called hypnobirthing, and its proponents say it's helping moms give birth without the fear associated with labor and delivery.
It’s not labor, it’s bliss!
The idea behind HypnoBirthing is that childbirth is a natural function and can be accomplished calmly if the mother can relax enough to let her body do its job. HypnoBirthers believe modern birth — with epidurals, C-sections, Pitocin injections, etc. — build a culture of fear which causes women to release hormones during childbirth that increase pain.

You are at the official HypnoBirthing® Institute website. HypnoBirthing® – The Mongan Method is as much a philosophy as it is a technique. The concept of HypnoBirthing® is not new, but rather a “rebirth” of the philosophy of birthing as it existed thousands of years ago and as it was recaptured in the work of Dr. Grantly Dick-Read, an English obstetrician, who, in the 1920s, was one of the first to forward the concept of natural birthing.
