Polyneuropathies
Polyneuropathy is a broad term that refers to the involvement of multiple peripheral nerves. It is a type of peripheral neuropathy and the two terms are often used synonymously. However, this is imprecise as there are many different types of peripheral neuropathy (e.g. radiculopathy, mononeuropathy) that simply refers to damage or dysfunction of peripheral nerves.
Polyneuropathies typically lead to symmetrical involvement of distal peripheral nerves in a ‘length-dependent’ manner, meaning the longer nerves of the legs and arms are affected first. Symptoms are usually those of sensory loss, paraesthesia, and/or weakness. There are numerous causes of polyneuropathy and they can be…

Polyneuropathy: A Comprehensive Guide
Damage to the peripheral nerves (that outside of the brain and spinal cord) and the resulting symptoms are generally known as peripheral neuropathy, the most common form of which is polyneuropathy. This neuropathy condition may damage nerves in more than one location.

Diagnosis and management of patients with polyneuropathy
First-line oral treatment options for the symptoms of painful diabetic neuropathy are tricyclic antidepressants, serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors, sodium-channel blockers, and gabapentinoids, which all appear to be similarly effective.
Neuropathy: Maybe it's all connected...
Researchers are just beginning to highlight the role of SFN in Sjogren’s. SFN is sometimes called SFPN (small fiber polyneuropathy) because it usually impacts a widespread area and a large number of nerves.
Overview of polyneuropathy
The terms "polyneuropathy," "peripheral neuropathy," and "neuropathy" are frequently used interchangeably but are distinct.
Overview of symptoms, pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of various acquired polyneuropathies
Polyneuropathy includes a lot of diseases damaging peripheral nerves. It shows roughly the same areas on both sides of the body, featuring weakness, numbness, and burning pain. Polyneuropathy is known to usually begin in the hands and feet and progress to the arms and legs. Sometimes it can involve other parts of the body such as the autonomic nervous system. Lots of causes can induce acute or chronic polyneuropathy, so finding the original cause is most important for the treatment of polyneuropathy.
Pathophysiology in polyneuropathy
In the evaluation of polyneuropathy (PNP), one of the main goals of the electrophysiological examination is to identify the primary pathophysiology as either axonal or demyelinating due to its important implications for diagnosis, treatment and prognosis.
Polyneuropathies
Polyneuropathies (PNP) are generalized disorders of the peripheral nervous system. With a prevalence of approximately 5%–8%, they represent the commonest disorder in this disease group Since these diseases can have a multitude of etiologies and concomitant disorders, virtually all medical specialties come into contact with polyneuropathy patients.
Polyneuropathy – What is it and how is it Caused?
Polyneuropathy is classified as a subgroup of peripheral neuropathies and is quite common. There are three types of polyneuropathies: acquired, hereditary or idiopathic (unknown cause).
Prevalence of Polyneuropathy in Pre-Diabetes and Diabetes...
Diabetic polyneuropathy affects 54 per 100,000 people a year in the community and represents the third most common neurological disorder, surpassed only by cerebrovascular events and shingles.
The epidemiology and risk factors of chronic polyneuropathy
Polyneuropathy is a disabling condition of the peripheral nerves, characterized by symmetrical distal numbness and paresthesia, often accompanied with pain and weakness. Although the disease is often encountered in neurological clinics and is well known by physicians, incidence and prevalence rates are not well known.
Treating neuropathy: Which medication is best?
Unfortunately, it can take many months or even longer to find a treatment that works. Doctors have little guidance to know which ones to start with. That’s why research comparing treatment options is so important — and yet, precious little comparative research on treatments for idiopathic sensory polyneuropathy has been published.

ReBuilder Medical
The ReBuilder stimulates both nerves and muscles. By stimulating the dysfunctional nerves, the ReBuilder provides pain relief. By stimulating the muscles in the calf, the venous muscle pump is activated which increases blood flow and circulation that results in de-oxygenated blood cells and toxins being carried away, while bringing in new, healthy blood back into the feet.
Patient
Polyneuropathies are the most common type of disorder of the peripheral nervous system in adults, especially the elderly, with an estimated prevalence of 5-8%, depending on age. Most polyneuropathies are chronic and usually develop over several months. Three main patterns of polyneuropathy can be distinguished and each has a different differential diagnosis...
